Current Topic:  CLEANSING

This is simple information for a short-term or one day a week cleanse program.  If you wish to do a longer term cleanse please contact your local naturopath or herbalist.

This cleanse is designed to purify the body so that it may heal more easily.  It clears the eliminative channels so that the body may rid itself of waste matter, and therefore function more efficiently.  This cleanse will eliminate toxic lymph, mucous, catarrh, and excess acids.  It will help normalize they body’s weight and prepare the body for regeneration.  By purifying the bowel, organs and other eliminative channels we assist the body to repair, heal, and regenerate itself with healthy cells.

Taking 1 tablespoon more or less of flaxseed or olive oil, three times a day, helps to lubricate the liver and bile ducts.  To prevent dehydration, and to alkalinize the body as it cleanses, drink at least 3 liters of fruit juices a day, preferably freshly made from organic ingredients.  If you do not have a juicer now is a good time to borrow or buy one.  You might choose any of the following juices or a combination of.  Whichever you choose be sure to stick to it exclusively for that day.  Chew each mouthful of juice thoroughly and drink slowly.  Savor this experience; swish the juice around in your mouth.  If you are hypoglycemic, “chewing” the juice will help prevent an unpleasant sugar reaction.  Tune into the body’s rhythms to encourage elimination of toxins and waste materials.

Citrus Juice—Use 4-6 grapefruit, 2-3 lemons, and enough oranges to make 3 liters.  Dilute with 3 liters of water.

 Carrot Juice—use this without diluting

Grape Juice—Use unsweetened without additives or preservatives.  Bottled juice is better than frozen.  Dilute half and half with water.

Apple Juice—Use freshly pressed if available.

Other excellent foods to juice are beet root, parsley, any leafy green vegetable, celery, pineapple, & feijoa

Note:  Do not worry if you don’t drink all the juice you made for the day.  You can save it for the next day.  If you run out of juice, drink water or herbal teas.  Most juices will be diluted with an equal amount of water.
