Directions Infuse 1 teaspoon of herbs per cup of hot (but not boiling) water. Adjust the amount of herbs based on individual preference, constitution, and purpose. Leave to infuse for 10 to 15 minutes. Add a touch of honey if desired. Best without milk. Drink up to three times daily. Many prefer half the amount of herb for enjoyment and double the amount when there is a medicinal need. Use 3 cups per day or more as needed but only for one week. Then rest a few days to a week and continue on.
Dosage

Up to 1 year: Start with a pinch of herbs (mixed with carob powder if needed) as an infusion or with juice or mashed fruit. Adjust and use more or less herbs based on your baby's reaction and individual constitution.

2 to 7 years: 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon as an infusion or with juice or mashed fruit. Again adjust and use more or less herbs based on your child's reaction and individual constitution.

Adults: Start with normal dosage (1 teaspoon) and adjust according to weight, condition of digestive system, and your present health or illness. Take up to 1 tablespoon of herbs, three times per day.

Use as directed. If you are on prescription medications, or if symptoms persist, see your health care professional.

Storage Store in a glass jar or seal bag tightly and keep in a cool place away from direct sunlight, moisture and heat. This is very important to ensure that the life-force and potency of the herbs is maintained.
Contra-Indications

Licorice--Moderate doses for females, large frequent doses can aggravate high blood pressure or high sodium and not for those who tend to retain water.

Avoid use during pregnancy or if you have a known allergy to any of the herbs in this blend.

Herb Activities and Applications:

*Red Clover (Trifolium pratense)--Toted as one of God's greatest blessings to man. It may help reduce acidity in the body and help with the assimilation of iron. This herb is high in minerals, vitamins and proteins. A wonderful blood purifier and lymphatic cleanser which makes it helpful for most skin complaints! A great remedy for cancer of the stomach and all other types of cancer, whooping cough, bronchial troubles, and various spasms, kidney complaints, arthritis, as well as being soothing to the nerves. It is a gentle herb which is good for long-term consumption even by young children and elderly people.


*Yarrow (Achillea millefolium)- Its use dates back many many years in history and it is very high in nutrients. Yarrow is soothing and healing to the mucous membranes. Within the urinary system it has been used for incontinence, as a urinary antiseptic in cystitis, and is most effective for suppressed urine, scanty urine, or mucous discharge from bladder. It is good for the early stages of flu and colds by opening the pores to release toxins, raising the temperature, encouraging perspiration, and increasing circulation. It is an excellent herb for hemorrhages and bleeding of the lungs and it can help relieve menstrual cramps. It will cure old wounds and ulcers, and is useful in childhood eruptive diseases. For the digestive system it can expel gas from the stomach and intestines, tone the mucous membranes of the stomach and bowels, stimulate digestion, and balance gastric secretions.


*Red Raspberry leaf (Rubus ideaus)-When taken during and throughout pregnancy this herb has been traditionally used to strengthen womb tissues, increase fertility, assist in strong contractions during labor, stop hemorrhage during labor, ease menstrual cramps, prevent miscarriage, ease morning sickness, reduce pain during labor and after the birth, and enrich lactation. Due to its astringent properties it can be good for diarrhea, mouth ulcers, bleeding gums, inflammation and canker sores, as well as, soothing to the kidneys and urinary tract. It is an excellent remedy for children's bowel and stomach complaints. Raspberry leaf has been helpful for various menstrual difficulties, nausea, vaginal discharges, prolapse of uterus and childbirth problems, constipation, intestinal flu, vomiting, and hemorrhoids. It is very high in vitamins and minerals.


*Bearberry (Arctostaphylos uva-ursi)-Considered a sacred herb by the American Indians, used specifically for the genitor-urinary organs, particularly in cases of gravel or ulceration of the kidneys and bladder. It soothes, strengthens and tones mucous membranes of the urinary passages where it also acts as a mild antiseptic and astringent. It can stimulate kidney activity, help reduce accumulations of uric acid, and reduce excessive sugar levels in diabetics. Bearberry has been used for blood in the urine, diabetes, incontinence, kidney stones, uterine hemorrhage, bladder and kidney infections, cystitis, or more chronic kidney problems.


*Nettle (Urtica dioica)- Rich in chlorophyll, iron, silica, potassium, vitamin C, and proteins amongst many others. This herb strengthens and supports the whole body and has been used specifically for asthma and eczema when taken over a long period of time. Its properties include helping to: expel phlegm from the stomach, clean the urinary canal, increase energy levels, clear up skin eruptions, aid in arthritis and rheumatism, stimulate the digestive system, aid the kidneys, reduce hemorrhoids, increase breast milk production, and ease leg cramps and other muscle spasms. It is a great blood purifier and a safe remedy for bleeding and anemia.


*Gotu Kola (Centella asiatica)-Its high magnesium content makes it an excellent nerve tonic for ailments of the mind and nerves because it promotes tranquility and vitalizes brain cells, and is even said to prolong life. This herb helps to neutralizes blood acids making it an excellent reliever of fevers and inflammation. It has also been used to: clear urinary tract infections, venereal disease, hepatitis, swollen glands, measles, tonsillitis, and skin complaints. It can strengthen the adrenals and help with premature aging and hair loss.


*Yellow dock root (Rumex crispus)- Useful in treating diseases of the blood because of its high iron content. It has been used extensively by the Native American Indians for stimulating digestion and elimination, improving liver and stomach action, improving bile flow, and as a laxative. It has the ability to tone up the entire system and is an excellent and effective remedy for: impure blood, eruptive skin diseases, scrofula, glandular tumors, anemia, jaundice, lymph problems, liver congestion, syphilis, psoriasis, eczema, constipation, and rheumatism.


*Dandelion root (Taraxacum officinale)-Similar in action to dandelion leaf but has a deeper and stronger affect. It detoxifies, clears obstructions, and stimulates the liver to unload poisons. It can also aide a sluggish spleen, pancreas, gall bladder, bladder, or kidneys. Dandelion root tends to promote digestion, increase appetite, and purify the blood. It is an excellent herb for detoxifying from a bad diet or over-eating fried and fatty foods. It is a natural source of protein, iron, calcium, potassium salts, and is very high in Vitamin A (6x that of carrots). An old and well-known remedy for any of the following: increasing the flow of urine in liver problems, constipation, jaundice, skin diseases, scurvy, scrofula, eczema, kidney troubles, diabetes, dropsy, inflammation of the bowels, fever, and problems with the female organs.


*Burdock root (Arctium lappa)-Has been used throughout history as an aphrodisiac, hormone balancer, and potent blood cleanser. It is high in nutrients with an abundance of iron so it is of special value to the blood and as a general body builder. It can improve appetite and digestion, increase lymphatic circulation, purify blood toxins, eliminate long-term impurities from the body, stimulate bile secretion, help restore the function of liver and gall bladder, improve skin problems, and stimulate the immune system in a slow, steady, and deep way.


*Licorice root (Glycyrrhiza glabra)- Its use dates back to the third century B.C. where it was primarily used for lung and throat problems, coughs, bronchitis, congestion, and as a mild laxative. It is very beneficial in treating adrenal insufficiency or exhaustion and other glandular problems, as well as, stomach and intestinal ulcers. Licorice is an effective expectorant which liquefies and draws mucous out of the body, which makes it especially helpful for all lung problems. Its use as a mild laxative is safe for children and adults. In addition it may relieve abdominal pain and spasms, help to reduce fever, help for stomach and duodenal ulcers, counteract stress, flu, colds, debility, stabilize hypoglycemia, supply energy to the system to aid recovery from illnesses, ease sore throats, coughs, dryness of lungs, and hoarseness.
